Well.. I haven't posted recently, and I do apologize for that. It's more or less because I wanted to be a little less public about what has happened with my relationship with Anna.
Apparently it doesn't work because i was recently told that.. hey.. my AIM profile direct links to my "personal" site and well.. lets just say it's pretty juicy alright?
Anyway... I've decided to cross post into here, and not care about the inconvenience for others. I mean.. I should be selfish sometime too right?
With that being said.. I'm going to sticky post one of my private entries that I made back in April, when i first started "getting" a feeling about how things were going down between me and Anna.
Suffice to say.. I was ready to marry the girl (i had about $4k saved up for a ring!), but it wasn't meant to be. Now.. i know people have said.. Distance relationships don't work. But... think of it this way.. If you can make it through a distance relationship by being apart from each other for 2 years.. then you know you can make it through anything. I'm glad i found out now, rather than it be too late.

Yes folks.. it's happened. I close on Friday of next week (August 27th)!!!... so exciting. well except for writing a check for $112,000.
yeah.. just plain sick. Is it more sick that i actually think i got a bargain on the place? LOL that is Southern California for you.
OK.. so what have i been up to lately.
Besides the emotional roller coaster, I have found out that I am STILL horrible at surfing. I got up a whole ONCE this past monday, but have very bronzed skin to show for it. My tan actually looks pretty good!! =P
My sister is a pretty bad poker player. If you are playing texas and see a flop of AK 3 and you are holding 3 4... chances are good that you do not win. it is not a good hand to say "all in" on.
Work is kinda cool.. Been offered a couple of cross company jobs.. One for the C-17 program which should be really cool, but unfortunately it's all the way out in long beach. The BSS guys want me to go work there, but that's even further in El Segundo. So pretty much if I'm to stay with Boeing I'd have to be in Anaheim, HB or Irvine. But I don't know how interested I would be working for connextion. They are all done with the architecture stuff... so.. *shrug*. If i could only get in on the Lasercomm trade studies.. That would be the shizznit.. meaning I would be able to help prototype and model a whole new communication architecture for military use. Pretty bad ass considering I loved playing with Lasers and Networks. hrm.. who would had thunk it?
Vegas is coming up in about a week.. Very exciting to go with about 12 people i know and 30 people i don't. Found out that christine and her friends are coming out too, so we'll have one giganto party at the Rum Jungle next Saturday night. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MELISSA!!!
And the best thing about this trip... yeah... no significant others (like i had one... LOL).
which leads me to the last part.. Maggie vs. Cynthia vs. newcomer? We'll see how this weekend goes with Cynthia. More info later. And yes.. i guess according to NC terms.. I'm a dog.
diet plan.. I was at 188 3 weeks ago.. Made a bet with lauren.. that i'd lose 10 lbs in 5 weeks (2 a week).. I'm ahead of the pace but i think i fell back because i ate mcDonald's cheeseburgers for dinner today. egh.. but i'm down 7 and my beergut is noticable diminishing.. Plus i'm benching near body weight.. Not bad for a scrawny looking asian guy.

Madden 2005
Posted by bert at 11:41 AM on August 21, 2004 in ME.
They claimed they made the computer smarter and they did... but not too much smarter since the offensive lines in the game can't handle 8 man blitzes... it forces them into stupid situations and lots of interceptions if your secondary is fast. They do get smarter that if you run run run run, playaction pass.. they will get burned about 80% of the time by a deep bomb.
Besides that.. not to many new features. Still a pretty bad ass game. and somehow.. Phil Rivers is destroying the league in every category and will maybe match his MVP / Probowl incentives for the next 6 years.

Especially long term ones...
I haven't been posting really in my Tabby account because I went back to using my "personal" page's blog. I had a ton of personal items to write about. Anyway.. make a story short..
after 3 years with this girl.. I have now changed every one of my e-mail passwords, Ebay password, hell ORBITZ password. ATM PIN number, credit card accounts, etc.
and on top of that.. i need to change the place i post things since she knows only of my other blog. Because i blogged what i was feeling on my personal page.. she felt that she knew what she wanted to know about what was going on in my life. Enough so not to warrant calling me. Anyway.. that's changing and she doesn't get that benefit anymore...
So... i guess what i'm saying is that this is my now main page.. Childish huh? =)

Just got back...
Posted by bert at 03:50 PM on August 22, 2004 in ME.
from the mall after dropping about 90 bucks on an outfit. I really just don't understand how clothes can cost so much... and how people are so willing to pay it.. But... the girl i took shopping says i looked good in it and that the girls in vegas would be "all over me."
I asked her if she would be all over me if she saw me in vegas.. and i got this reply.. "honey, I'd be all over you now if you were ready for it."
hrm.. not sure what to make of that one. =P

Welcome back Stateside Ken! I appreciate all the efforts you and your battalion has done for us. Protecting our country and fighting the terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan. You and your brothers are providing my Freedom. I can never thank you all enough.
Now that you are at your new home, spend some quality time with your new bride. I wish you and Beth all the best! And I can't wait to come celebrate your "union" in grand style!

Win Ben Stein's book?
Posted by bert at 01:31 PM on August 25, 2004 in politics.
ah.. yes.. finally.... back to a little politics.
I read something from Ben Stein today (no... i did not win his money... instead gave him some of mine to read his book.)
"We could handle nutty people carrying around placards warning about the 'horrors' of globalization and explaining that America is the Great Satan; and we could deal with Looney Tunes-type individuals blowing their tops about the supposed wickedness of racism and how any self-respecting person should hate America because of its bigotry, if we weren't at war with those who really mean to put an end to this country and our way of life."

Betting the Come
Posted by bert at 02:29 PM on August 26, 2004 in ME.
well. T-minus 1 hour and counting. I'll be heading to my softball game with the "Amazing One." yes.. she's amazing. hopefully i hit really well again so we can talk about all my exploits on the flight out to Vegas directly afterwards.
If i can parlay a good game with an even better conversation, then I will have considered this trip a success before i even touch down in Mccarrin (SP?) International in Vegas.
Then it's off to Bally's where I here the Hard 6's and 8's flowing. Bet the Come many times, because we're Pressing the Yo.
See everyone Sunday.
and hopefully becky monday morning! =)

The Enemy of my Enemy is my friend
Posted by bert at 08:17 PM on August 29, 2004 in ME.
Just one last thing before i pass out.
Tomorrow, the Republican National Convention kicks off in New York City. Now the biggest thing that Wall Street fears is 1.) The new employment numbers, and 2.) A terrorist threat on NYC this week.
Now.. think for a second.. If the terrorists hate the republicans (basically Bush) so much that they would purposely try to disrupt the RNC and "effect" the markets... Wouldn't you think that it would be smart for us to Vote that guy into the office? Keep in mind... the BAD GUYS are rooting for Kerry to win.
"the enemy of my enemy is my friend" right?

The Ultimate Parlay
Posted by bert at 09:34 AM on August 30, 2004 in ME.
Before I get back to work. There was 1 tidbit from the weekend I would like to share.
I watched one guy make a $5 "yo" bet. what this means in the Craps world is that the guy is betting a proposition bet that the next roll will come up to total 11. It is a 1 time bet only and it pays 16 - 1. (yes... 2 chances in 36 dice combos is 18...)
Lo and behold, the dice come out and we see a beautiful 6, 5. and the Dealers holler, "YO!!!! Eleven."
This guy now gets paid 16-1 on his original $5, but he decides to "let it ride." and takes back his original $5, with $75 riding on the NEXT roll being a "yo."
the shot is out... and the first die lands at 5. The second die is spinning, spinning.. you see a 3, and then it tips a little on to.... 6!!!!
Dealers scream, "YO!!! Eleven!!!!"
the dude just hit 11 2x in a row. giving him a payout of 1200 bucks.
so what does he do? He presses his bet to $150.
anticlimactic now.. yeah.. he hits it again, this time for 2400 bucks. and takes all of his chips off the "yo" bet and proceeds to start playing the other more "traditional" table bets.
roughly 3500 bucks from a $5 bet. WOW

Hamster Story
Posted by bert at 10:43 AM on August 30, 2004 in ME.
I got an e-mail forward today, and Yeah.. i know these things are generally annoying.. but it's just something that I had to share. Perhaps the best way to ever start off a work week without money being involved. So enjoy. Bert and Ernie...
Here's what happened:
Just after dinner one night, my son came up to tell me there was "something wrong" with one of the two hamsters he holds prisoner in his room.
"He's just lying there looking sick," he told me.
"I'm serious, Dad. Can you help?"
I put my best hamster-healer-expression on my face
and followed him into his bedroom.
One of the little rodents was indeed lying on his back, looking stressed.
I immediately knew what to do.
"Honey", I called, "come look at the hamster!"
"Oh my gosh," my wife diagnosed after a minute.
"She's having babies."
"What?" my son demanded.
"But their names are Bert and Ernie, Mom!"
I was equally outraged. "Hey, how can that be? I thought we said we didn't want them to reproduce," I accused my wife.
"Well, what do you want me to do, post a sign in their cage?" she inquired. (I actually think she said this sarcastically!)
"No, but you were supposed to get two boys!" I reminded her, (in my most loving, calm, sweet voice, while gritting my teeth together).
"Yeah, Bert and Ernie!" my son agreed.
"Well, it's just a little hard to tell on some guys, you know," she informed me. (Again with the sarcasm, you think?)
By now the rest of the family had gathered to see what was going on. I shrugged, deciding to make the best of it. "Kids, this is going to be a wondrous experience, I announced. "We're about to witness the miracle of birth."
"OH, Gross!" they shrieked.
"Well, isn't THAT just Great! What are we going to do with a litter of tiny little hamster babies?" my wife wanted to know. (I really do think she was being snotty here, too, don't you?)
We peered at the patient. After much struggling, what looked like a tiny foot would appear briefly, vanishing a scant second later. "We don't appear to be making much progress," I noted.
"Its breech," my wife whispered, horrified.
"Do something, Dad!" my son urged. "Okay, okay."
Squeamishly, I reached in and grabbed the foot when it next appeared, giving it a gingerly tug. It disappeared. I tried several more times with the same results.
"Should I call 911?" my eldest daughter wanted to know. "Maybe they could talk us through the trauma."
(You see a pattern here with the females in my house?)
"Let's get Ernie to the vet," I said grimly.
We drove to the vet with my son holding the cage in his lap. Breathe, Ernie, breathe," he urged.
"I don't think hamsters do Lamaze," his mother noted to him. (Women can be so cruel to their own young. I mean what she does to me is one thing, but this boy is of her womb, for God's sake.)
The vet took Ernie back to the examining room and peered at the little animal through a magnifying glass. "What do you think, Doc, a c-section?"
I suggested scientifically.
"Oh, very interesting," he murmured.
"Mr. and Mrs. Cameron, may I speak to you privately for a moment?" I gulped, nodding for my son to step outside.
"Is Ernie going to be okay?" my wife asked.
"Oh, perfectly," the vet assured us. "This hamster is not in labor.
In fact, that isn't EVER going to happen... Ernie is a boy. You see, Ernie is a young male. And occasionally, as they come into maturity, like most male species, they um....um....masturbate. Just the way he did, lying on his back."
He blushed, glancing at my wife. "Well, you know what I'm saying, Mr. Cameron."
We were silent, absorbing this. "So Ernie's just...just...Excited," my wife offered.
"Exactly," the vet replied, relieved that we understood. More silence...
Then my vicious, cruel wife started to giggle. And giggle. And then even laugh loudly.
"What's so funny?" I demanded, knowing, but not believing that the woman I married would commit the upcoming affront to my FLAWLESS manliness.
Tears were now running down her face. "It's just...that...I'm picturing you pulling on its...
its...teeny little..." she gasped for more air to bellow in laughter once more.
"That's enough," I warned.
We thanked the Veterinarian and hurriedly bundled the hamsters and our son back into the car. He was glad everything was going to be okay.
"I know Ernie's really thankful for what you've done, Dad," he told me.
"Oh, you have NO idea," my wife agreed, collapsing with laughter.
2 Hamsters ..... $10
1 Cage ..... $20
1 Trip to the Vet .... $30
Memory of your husband pulling on a hamster's wacker .... Priceless.
Note:THANK GOD the Hamster doing the deed wasn't the Bert Hamster =)
