Casino Night, Kentucky Game, and Dinners

lets see just a quick update.
we had Casino Night friday with all our raised funds going towards a habitat house (yay for sustainable energy!) almost 200k raised by poor college kids.
then we of course had to go watch the UNC-Kentucky game. suffice to say... its not nearly as cool when you aren't in the risers.... and with their new ticket distribution system, the crowds are severely, SEVERELY lacking in Cohesiveness... it was PATHETIC.
and then on sunday i cooked dinner for a bunch of friends, and a bunch more people all came by to enjoy 4-player Wii goodness. Suffice to say we are turning non-gamers into gaming fans. I was just told by my marketing professor that our final exam will be covering the Wii. Somehow he heard i had one and called me out in front of class today to bring one in for him to "study"
blah. Wii is good.. I just picked up my third game. Rayman's Raving Rabbids.
oh god... i need to stop playing since finals week is coming....
BUWHAHAHHA
ok and one really random note.
is it bad that each time i check my stock portfolio and I look at my Morgan Stanley (MS) stock, i think... multiple sclerosis?

one weekend left in the semester and I do this....

so three big events for this weekend.
1.) We had teh around the world party at alta spring this weekend. So what do i learn? Jaegar bombs are tasty (but i already knew that). Mojitos are Tasty too! (knew that too). Sake Bombs are kinda tasty (knew that). combining the three repeatedly is stupid
result?
btw.. i'm not sure where the pizza came from...
2.ok.. so.. yeah.. i didn't wake up very well saturday morning.
...but that didn't stop me from another basketball game, this time for Roy William's 500th victory. It was against a school called high-point. Lets just say.. it was in teh bag. But here's why the game mattered. We got hooked up with my buddy Tim's dad's tickets (Row 4 courtside). which also meant we got pre-game privileges. Lets just say.. all that crap about networking in school is just BS. if you can't get into that inner circle, you have no shot. Now that' i've said it... they're really nice people and they still eat the same junky chicken wings. You have ALL that money and you still eat that awful catered crap?!?!??! oh and the blond cheerleader was really cute... but you didn't need me to relay that huh? =)
3. ok.. after the game, was followed by the "reindeer" party. 3 kegs of yl on tap, yummy!.. and chili cheese tator tots!.. YUMMIER.. and the dancing at the martini bar. It was lots of fun until i got bored and remembered i promised betty i'd show up at her party too.. So show up i did.. and i left 20 minutes later... hrm... oh well.. at least no hang over tonight.. it was just beer.
4. and today (sunday was exciting too!!!). ok not really.. my highlight was watching indy lose to jacksonville. Ok.. have a good one.

Away Messages and Nostalgia

Went to see the new Rocky movie last night.
there's a few different types of people on this planet. People who watch what they watch and enjoy it.
people who watch movies because "they have to" but are just lemmings anyway
and people who don't watch the movies =).
And they all converged to watch Rocky 6... er Balboa.
1... i got made fun of for watching the new rocky movie, by someone who hasn't even seen the 4th movie.
2... went to see it with someone who has "seen them all" but isn't sure if Mr T and Hulk Hogan made any apperances in the movies.
3... went to see it with someone who like me... thought it was a trainwreck waiting to happen, but had to see it because it WAS rocky.
here's the problem with the new rocky movie. 1&2 won't want to watch this movie, because they just can not understand.....
cuz this movie was ALL NOSTALGIA all the time. he borrowed so heavily with each of his past movies, except flying to russia thing...
anyway, if you're true rocky fan. Go watch it and enjoy yourself. it's not a "best movie" but it takes all the cheap easy emotional feels from his past movies, wraps it up in one.. and then throws in into lots of good fight scenes..
i'm glad i dropped student fares on this one.
ok.. and #2.. people who use AIM skins and have perma away messages on their AIM screen name are NOT allowed to bitch about others not saying hi to them via AIM. seriously.. unless i absolutely need something from someone who is away, i will not IM someone who is "away" Esp if you're too boring to create your own personalized away message.

Problems with Base.google.com

so there's this new "beta" service that Google offers. (like a marketplace) to compete with half.com or amazon's marketplace.
the problem with all these sites (and ebay) is when people don't receive the packages they are supposed to. or just don't receive the packages period.
amazon mediates, so does half (ebay), google on the other hand does not and will not.
