another post on girls.
note: Gold Digging women are very unattractive. Even if they have the nicest bodies of any girl I have ever dated. I guess I have to go to a different gym for the rest of my stay in SLC...

so.. new short (5-6 week project) which requires extensive travel.
This is why my normal life is in shambles...
I did the math, for the entire month of october, I will be in DC for a total of 96 hours. ok.. aka. I will be paying roughly $16 an hour to spend time in my apartment for the month of October....
Anyone in Salt Lake City?

all weekend long this girl i haven't seen in like a year was like.. "lets get dinner together sometime this week," She lives about 45 minutes away, and with my job and her long distance boyfriend, we just don't see each other.
me: Alright, if i take my car to Tysons on Monday, we can grab dinner after i pick up my car. (tysons is like a quasi mid-point for us)
amy: Alright. Finally after 3 months of trying to hang out!
this morning... after i drop my car off at tysons, and then metro into work (1 hour for those crazy f'ers that live all the way out at Dunn Loring to go into DC...
amy: hey about tonight. i can't make it anymore..
me: damn i thought we finally found some time.
amy: yeah.. i forgot i had yoga class.
i feel so dissed...

t's been a hard and thorough process, and i'm not entirely sure how exactly i've succeeded, but I have managed to finally "de-google" myself. aka, it is very hard to find much of my web-presence on google these days.

nothing like playing 6+ hours of sports to get your mind off of a girl (Tears are a terrible secret weapon.. I have NO defense...). So I hopped on my friends rec-league team and played in an all-day tournament. I played really well until the 5 hour-mark where I ran onto some divet, tried to catch my balance and instead sprained my groin something serious...
And then I let the big fat dude who shouldn't be scoring on anyone, score on me...
But we won that game, and ended up finishing 2nd of 8 teams, so I'm pretty happy with our performance. It was gutsy, and well hustled points, and I really established a reputation for making some great instant throws. In pre-game competition, I did manage to throw a disk 70 yards. (some guy blew that out of the water with a 90 yard throw).
Alright.. so back to the point.. that groin was rediculous. We went out for drinks afterwards and just hobbling to the bar to get a drink became a chore. Forget about dancing. hobbling home from the metro? well probably took about 4x as long as I needed it to take. And today i've been a debbie downer applying ice and tiger balm to keep the swelling down. Who knew this little thing could keep me down?

My rate is over $300 / hr to my clients..
I'm spending 3 hours driving to/from Philly to bring my boss to the airport. when he could have gotten a rental car for $75 and driven himself.
not complaining. Tonight's cheesesteak will be hella good too.

One of the remarkable things about DC is that there are so many people with insanely interesting background stories. Every now and then you run into a truly fascinating story and is more than worthy to spread.
About a week ago, I met a friend of a friend's at his brand new apartment to pre-party prior to hitting a club for someone else's birthday. One of the other folks there was good friends with this kid named Jason Mraz, and told us great stories about how Mraz used to get tooled on by all the jocks at the redneck town they were from (Richmond area suburb).
Unbeknowenst to me our host that evening, Mike Kim, had a real story worth telling. He even wrote about it! (http://www.amazon.com/Escaping-North-Korea-Defiance-Repressive/dp/0742556204/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1248531778&sr=8-1)
and Jon Stewart interviewed him (and gave him some amazing Tequila that we sampled)

here's a man that is completely devoted to his faith and passion, and was willing to risk everything to do what he felt was right. I wish he could get more acknowledgement for his amazing decisions. If everyone in tha tworld could have that level of conviction, this world would be such a better place. Watch the clip, read the book. see if it doesn't inspire you. Obviously he didn't pay for drinks that night =)
